In the entertaining and cost-free action game Pokémon: Emerald, you fight and gather Pokémon. Similar to the other main Pokémon games, this role-playing game pits you against two opposing factions, Team Aqua and Team Magma, and takes place both on land and at water.

In Pokémon: Emerald, you assume the role of a young child who has just moved to a new town and is determined to follow in their father's footsteps by mastering Pokémon. To battle wild Pokémon and compete with other trainers, you'll have to brave the great outdoors.

Gotta catch ‘em all

The goal of Pokémon: Emerald and all of its predecessors is to collect these monsters and utilize them to fight off Pokémon owned by other trainers or the wild. You win when either your opponent runs out of Pokémon or you manage to capture one. If any of your Pokémon pass out, you will lose. If you lose, you have to start over at the previous Pokémon Center and pay half as much.

Raising your Trainer Rank can also come from visiting new cities and taking out the top trainer at the neighborhood Pokémon gym. As you train and obtain Pokémon, you'll have to do a ton of side missions and adventures. Eventually, you'll get into some dirty business with Team Aqua and Team Magma, two malevolent groups of Pokémon trainers.

Along the way to becoming a Pokémon Master, you can encounter intriguing characters and gather a ton of adorable and strong Pokémon in the game. However, every time you run into a building, the game becomes unsteady. Because some of the control buttons overlap with the ads, you may also mistakenly press them.

Is there a remake?

While Pokemon Emerald takes players back in time, neither Game Freak, Nintendo, or the Pokemon Company have released any information regarding a potential remake or even the possibility of a ported version of the game being released on Nintendo Switch Online. Even more unfounded were the rumors that Nintendo was working on Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Color emulators for Nintendo Switch Online. In light of this, it is advisable to evaluate information critically from the internet and hold off on making any official announcements from Nintendo.
